How to Choose

GIRELTO / TRAVEL COMPANION NOTES

Choose for the pet first, then for the way you move. Use these steps to compare a carrier's shape, route requirements and everyday handling without turning a lifestyle image into an unsupported specification.

1. Step one: establish the space your pet needs

Measure your animal while it is in a natural position and note the room it needs to stand, turn and lie comfortably. Compare those needs with confirmed internal dimensions for the exact carrier, not just an external silhouette or a product name suggesting a size. Where measurements are missing, request them before ordering. A photograph cannot establish a safe weight capacity, and two animals of the same weight may have very different body shapes. Consider your pet's posture, coat and movement as well as the space occupied by any permitted bedding.

2. Step two: compare the carrying style

Tote and duffel shapes place the bag beside your body; backpack shapes use shoulder straps; sling shapes have a more open arrangement; wheeled designs change how a bag moves on suitable ground. Think about the actual distance, stairs, waiting areas and surfaces on your route. A wheeled bag still needs careful handling where wheels cannot roll, and a backpack does not remove the need to monitor your pet. Choose the arrangement you can handle calmly and correctly. Do not infer a support rating or suitability for long-distance carrying from the visible presence of a handle.

3. Step three: inspect access and ventilation

Look at where the openings and mesh panels are placed, then confirm how the actual closures work. Make sure airflow will not be blocked by coats, other luggage or a blanket. Before each use, inspect seams, straps, handles and fastenings for wear or damage. An attractive shape is not a substitute for reliable containment or an appropriate fit. An open sling and an enclosed carrier should not be treated as interchangeable. If a closure is damaged or your pet can escape, stop using the item and resolve the problem before traveling.

4. Step four: check the whole route

Contact the railway, airline, vehicle operator or accommodation provider for their current pet rules. Check the exact service and booking, because requirements can differ between routes and change over time. Our bags are not described as universally airline-approved or crash-tested. A travel carrier is not automatically a vehicle restraint, and it should not be used as one without supported product-specific guidance. Include waiting time, weather, transfers and suitable breaks in your plan. If a destination has a restriction, buying a particular style does not override that restriction.

5. Practice before a real departure

Leave the carrier open in a quiet, familiar room and allow your animal to investigate without pressure. Keep the first sessions brief and calm, and build familiarity before introducing movement or a busier setting. Never force a pet into an unsuitable space or leave it unattended in a closed carrier. Watch its behavior and stop if it shows distress. Animals with medical, mobility, respiratory or behavioral needs may require individual advice from an appropriate professional. Our general guidance supports planning; it cannot establish a particular animal's fitness to travel.

6. Pack separately and keep the bag usable

Plan water, food, cleaning items and any required documents in a way that does not crowd the animal or obstruct ventilation. A scene photograph may show a blanket, bowl or suitcase for context, but these are not included unless the listing expressly says so. Use only accessories appropriate to the exact product and your animal. Keep closures clear of loose fabric, and place the bag on a stable surface when settling or checking your pet. Do not leave it in a hot vehicle or in prolonged direct sun.

7. Care, storage and receiving checks

When your order arrives, inspect the carrier before putting it into use. Read the supplied care instructions; without product-specific directions, do not assume machine washing, tumble drying or a particular cleaning chemical is suitable. Remove loose debris gently, address marks cautiously and allow the bag to dry completely before storing. Keep it away from damp conditions and chewing damage. Check it again after a long period in storage, since an item that looked sound when packed away may need attention before the next trip.

8. Budget for the journey as well as the bag

Review USD pricing, the discounted merchandise subtotal and your shipping selection at checkout. Preparation takes an estimated 5–10 business days, followed by estimated standard transport of 10–15 business days after dispatch. Do not order against an imminent departure on the assumption of immediate shipping. Read the return conditions and note that the default return destination is in China and change-of-mind return postage is normally your responsibility.
